You will need to download the day one update to make a lot stuff in the Xbox One work.
Now you need Xbox Live to play games online and to do some other things.
Comes with a 500GB hard drive, but you can't replace it.
You can use an external hard drive to expand the storage.
The Kinect 2.0 that comes with the console does Not need to be connected, to make the Xbox One work. But not having it connected means some features will be unavailable to you.
